Basic Beginner Sewing Classes

Two Beginning Sewing Classes are offered at Lines of Designs in The Dalles, Oregon.

Upcycled T-shirt Sample Projects

You may choose either the Pillowcase  or Upcycled T-shirt class. both are geared to the beginner who has no previous  sewing experience.

In both classes students will learn to use a rotary cutter, long ruler and cutting mat.
The first part of each class will be used for getting use to using a rotary cutter and ruler for accurate fabric cutting and discussing basic sewing techniques.  Please make sure your sewing machine is in good working order before class. You will also need to bring basic sewing supplies to every class. Click here for the list: Supply List

The Pillowcase class will be a 2 hour class and you will need to purchase supplies for two pillow cases. More advanced beginners may have time to work on a second pillowcase. You can find the supply list here:

The Upcycled T-shirt class will be a 2 hour class and you will need to purchase a t-shirt or knit shirt that fits well and one large or extra large men's button down the front shirt. (flannel or cotton is fine). Make sure to machine wash and dry all items. Feel free to bring other snippets of lace, stray pockets or vintage linens you don't mind getting cut up. This will be a simple project, but for more advanced beginners bringing extra supplies will allow for more artistic expression.
Cost: $40.00
